Brakes

7 Signs Your Brakes Need Service

Brakes usually warn you before they fail. Catching a worn pad early is routine work; ignoring it turns into rotors, calipers, and a much larger repair.

What to listen and feel for

1. A high-pitched squeal when you brake, often the wear indicator doing its job.

2. Grinding or a metal-on-metal scrape, which usually means the pad material is gone.

3. Vibration or pulsing through the pedal or steering wheel when slowing down.

4. A pedal that sinks toward the floor or feels spongy.

5. The vehicle pulling to one side while braking.

6. Longer stopping distances than you are used to.

7. A brake or ABS warning light on the dash.

Why waiting costs more

Pads are a wear item designed to be replaced. Once they run out, the metal backing cuts into the rotor, and heat can damage the caliper as well.

A brake inspection is quick. If you notice any sign above, call us and describe exactly when it happens: cold mornings, hard stops, or every stop.
