What to Do if Your Car Does Not Pass Inspection
Most vehicles that do not pass fail on a small number of specific items, not on their overall condition. The results sheet tells you exactly where to start.
Read the failed items one by one
Each listed item names a component, such as a brake measurement, a worn suspension part, a tire, or a light that does not work.
Ask to see the part on the vehicle when possible. Seeing a worn component makes the decision much easier than reading a line on paper.
Decide the order of repairs
Safety items that affect stopping and steering come first. Ask which repairs are required for the inspection and which are recommendations for later.
