What to do after failing the Maryland inspection
Authorized Maryland Inspection Station
A failed Maryland safety inspection gives you a list of items that need attention before the vehicle can pass. Keep the report, review each listed defect and plan the repairs before returning for re-inspection at the original station.
5320 Queens Chapel Rd, Hyattsville, MD 20782
Plan your repairs and re-inspection
Return to the same inspection station within 30 days of the original inspection and with fewer than 1,000 additional miles on the vehicle for the repaired-item re-inspection window. Call to confirm that your dates and mileage qualify; outside that window or at a different station, a complete inspection is required.
Re-inspection focuses on the repaired items and any other defects observed visually. Items that can be verified visually receive a visual recheck; some repairs need additional testing or equipment to confirm they meet the safety requirements. If the original inspector is unavailable on the scheduled recheck date, a complete re-inspection is required.
You may repair the items wherever you choose — and we can do the repairs here
Bring the failed-inspection report, vehicle registration or title, and keys. Call or send us a WhatsApp message with the items listed on your report to discuss the next step and confirm inspector availability.
